Calm, but Wild

Ok, so there was this time back in school where people would refuse to let others know if they were attached…like only very few of their best friends would know..and they rest would eventualy find out..and then reactions would be

“OMG, X is going out with Y????”

And then you would confront X, and he/she will keep denying any sort of attraction to Y…despite more than half the school knowing about it…and despite it being so obvious.

Kinda like a “others-should-not-know-i-am-attached”phobia!!!

But now, its the exact opposite! People are dying to let us know of their “no-more-single” statuses…and the moment he/she asks the other person out, relationship statuses change on facebook!

And sometimes, say when you are replying to some thread or commenting on some photo, you find everyone’s profile pic consists of them with their partners…And i know quite a few *cough cough* who actually feel out of place when commenting on them….some who think that right now their only option is to marry a tree!!!

And so why is everyone suddenly so intent on letting others know of their relationship statuses? Something that i can only attribute to us getting old! Any other reasons?

Last Saturday was “try-to-get-my-phone-fixed” day at Plaza Sing/orchard with Damitha ayya…where he bought a couple of T-shirts…and then, he realized he couldn’t carry the t-shirts to the birthday party he was attending, and so, he asked me to take them back..and promised to collect them from me soon..

And the soon was today (more than a week has passed), and he msged me to get them from me. Somehow, the series of msgs ended up with him inviting me and las over to his place for dinner. And the purpose of this dinner – so that he gets his T-shirts!!!

But what happened in the end – Yours truly very conveniently forgot the T-shirts, and only remembered on the way to his place in the bus!

Now the t-shirts are lying on table in a blue Baleno bag…and i’m sure they are gonna remain there till next weekend, atleast!

But, then again, it would be the perfect opportunity for us to get more of Pavi ayya’s delicious home cooked food!

So not sensible. So not correct. So not ethical. So not moral. So not my principles

So not Nithiya’ish

So then why am i doing it?

No answers.

What you don’t know isn’t going to hurt you in anyway,

And thats why growing up sucks!

After i started the e27 internship, i seriously think my coffee shop/cafe/whatever you want to call it, will become a reality..

Just had a night out at supposedly the ex Singapore’s fastest runner’s place…was invited there by Mohan from work…and was jointly org by Vinod, Shaam and Mohan…It was fun to see ex tutors drunk and women superly high in a super nice condo, with a supercool clock, and other such decorations…and best of all, to be the one enjoying all of it without any sign of even tipsiness despite certain things we gulped down:)..

I think its turning out to be the best summer ever..and i hope next sem will continue to be the best sem ever also:P

The week before final exams every sem is labelled as “reading week” in NUS…and technically it is for studying for the finals.

Well Studying refers to revising their notes for the umpteenth time, and yet feeling stressed out for those people called “dean’s listers”, whilst for many others, it refers to looking at their notes for the first time, wondering what on earth those mathematical symbols u have never come across before mean and getting stressed out over how you are going to finish up understanding and learning all those “new” concepts and passing the exams..

But for many (I’m not talking about the abnormal dean’slisters here), reading week is about much more than just scratching their heads over those lecture notes that are yet to be looked at…It’s about

• Excessive msning – there’s no better time than this man..seriously
• Facebooking – seriously go look at people’s news feeds…they are the most active during reading weeks
• Blog reactivations – dead blogs come alive during reading week, and some even start their own blogs during this time’
• Catch up on sleep – you have been sleep deprived the whole semester due to your workload – JCRC, chairpersons, committee members, training, band practices, suppers, running away from ponding sessions, gossip sessions, taboo sessions, mahjong etc, and then after it all quietly dies down (atleast the first part), you know that now’s the time to get that beauty sleep of yours
• Pig out – hey, exams are in a week, and your are not stressed out with the excessive amount of *studying* you are doing, you deserve to eat alot!
• Discover scandals – what better time to find out who is studying with who in which corner of the library..
• Travelling – This is especially true of those angmohs on exchange

and the best part is, to do all this, you have to camp out in some library to show off to the NUS population that you are actually procastrinating studying!!!!

Walled Sridhar last morning after a long time, cos i hadn’t heard from him since ISN….

And then when i went to the biz library in the evening to continue my project meeting, i ran into him…

Our meetings always end up being co-incidental and random! I don’t think he has ever done a biz module in his life, and right now he is on his IA, so who would expect him at the biz lib? And that too, just after i walled him?

And whenever we run into each other, something weird and coincidental like this always happens..
